Maui in December

I guess cath and CVICU left me little time to blog as my last posting is from September! Well, we had a restful December starting off with a trip to Maui. Max loved the water.

Max just turned 6 months this past Saturday. Developmental milestone: sitting unassisted. . . . .check.

Rice Cereal

We noticed that Max seemed to be eyeing our food more and more for the past few days, so we decided it was time for him to try something other than his usual liquid diet. The directions on the box say to mix the rice cereal with the formula in a 1:5 ratio for the very first feeding, which ends up being not significantly thicker than the formula itself. Alas, we tried, and here are the results. There was definitely some chewing/gumming once we got some of the rice cereal past his tongue.

HOUSTON

This week we made the big move to Houston although Seattle seemed hell bent on keeping us in the NW as we missed our flight despite waking up at 4AM on Sunday morning. All five of us (Adam, me, Max, Stinky, and Peanut) did make the next flight and despite late movers, torrential rain from Hurricane Alex, and starting work on the 1st, we have settled into our new home. Max will finally have a room all to himself with big boy furniture, which we spent three hours picking at the baby store. Max also got himself a BUMBO as evidenced by the above photo.

Happy 100 Days!

Max turned 100 days today, and we celebrated with friends last night. It's a Korean tradition to celebrate a baby reaching a 100 days of life as back in the day, a significant number of babies wouldn't reach this milestone. It's less of a concern now, but just another excuse to eat cake!
